There are many sights to see at Waianapanapa State Park, and one of the coolest things is the lava tube. Follow the path down to the black sand beach – also a must-see – and as soon as your feet touch the black sand you’ll see the entrance to the lava tube. Walk in carefully. Even though it’s a sight you don’t want to miss, the waves are unpredictable in the mouth of the tube. Trust me – I know from personal experience!
