The “Apuakea”

This is the Hawaiian name for a type of rain which regularly falls in Hana right after sunrise, sweeping inland from the ocean and drenching everything in its path. The skies turn a light whitish gray and Hana becomes bathed in a clear yellow dawn light, heralding the dawn of another day in Paradise.
