The last area you will drive through before reaching Hana is Nahiku. This long stretch of road with its dense greenery is home to over 25,000 rubber trees. In 1905, the United States first rubber plantation opened here, but closed only a decade later. Nahiku had one world famous resident – George Harrison of the beatles purchased 63 acres of land here.
