The Keanae Peninsula.

The Keanae Peninsula is considered to be where the Hana Coast truly begins.  The small village there is rich in Hawaiian culture, and populated by native Mauians who fish, hunt, and grow taro using the same techniques as ancient Hawaiians.  These taro farmers maintain their taro patches in the old Hawaiian way, living by the ancient Hawaiian saying “the land is chief and the people its servants”.
