Kailua is the field headquarters of the East Maui Irrigation Co, (EMIC) where most of the residents are employed. Be sure to check out the Dams and the tunnels that are hewn from the mountain. Notice also the abundance of guava trees, pick as many as you wish, but be sure to eat them on Maui as they are considered a weed on the mainland! Check with Hana Picnic for details.
