Kaihalulu, better known as Red Sand Beach, is located just south of Hana Bay. The sand gets its red color from the crumbling cindercone hill nearby. It’s a short, but slippery, walk, and unfortunately it is only possible to swim there when the ocean is very calm. However, when you see the turquoise waves breaking against the red sand, you’ll know why this is considered a “must-see” on the Road to Hana.
