On the Road to Hana is a little gully called Maliko Gulch, where Hawaiian cowboys or paniolos used to unload cattle from inter-island ferrys.  Today, the little cove is best known as the way to Jaws – Maui’s most famous big wave surfing break.  Jaws only breaks a few times a year during the winter, but when it does waves reach heights of 125 feet and speeds of 30 miles per hour.  Only the best and bravest of the world of surfing challenge Jaws.
