Waianapanapa State Park has a beautiful black sand beach you don’t want to miss while driving the Road to Hana. Black sand is made from lava fragments, so in many ways standing on a black sand beach is a uniquely Hawaiian experience. Also, the combination of the black sand, turquoise water, and bright green plant life is spectacular. Be sure to remember your camera here!
